Accent the Positive

It’s almost impossible these days to not hear the doom and gloom of the economic reports on the news, by the water cooler and at family dinners. We are inundated 24-hours-a-day with negativity, up-to-the-minute reports of lost jobs and stock market crashes. While it’s important to be informed, you owe it to yourself and your business to not go down the slippery slope of negativity.

If you’re a business owner, a negative attitude, fear or uncertainty comes through like a neon sign to your clients that says: Closed For Business. During times like this, it’s imperative to protect you and your business from constant negativity. Focusing on the negative gives you only one thing: negativity.

No one really knows the power of the subconscious brain, but scientists do know that whatever you hear, see and feel doesn’t leave your brain or memory. Consciously, you may not be aware of what you are projecting or even thinking, but it all comes out from the subconscious.

Fail to fill your subconscious mind with positive thoughts and it will automatically be filled with negative thoughts from the environment. Being positive in the face of negativity takes persistence, practice and patience, but it will protect your mental, physical and spiritual health. It’ll also draw people toward you instead of away from you.

That’s good news for any business owner in any economy. If like attracts like, then you’re sure to attract other positive people who have their eye on success, not failure. Speak and think success all day, everyday.
