DISTRICT SALES LEADER DESIGNATE (Trainee) JOB ID: 4839 The District Sales Leader Designate will participate in a 12-month training program designed to provide an understanding of our business and the leadership skills necessary to perform the role of District Sales Leader (DSL).
Upon successful completion of the training program, the DSL-D will lead a team of 8 - 15 Route Sales Representatives and is responsible for sales and expense accountability. This includes leading and overseeing day-to-day sales, sales operations, logistics, inventory, scheduling, training and customer selling.
The 12 month on-boarding program will give you a comprehensive overview of our business, including Frito-Lay Region and Zone business initiatives, Key Account Management processes, Sales Operations, in-depth Route Training of our Direct Store Delivery distribution system, Financial Sales Management, and Leadership and People Management Training. To complete the program, you will be assigned a mini-district to manage with the ultimate goal of receiving your DSL training certification.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or minimum 8 years of sales/retail management experience
- Must have demonstrated people leadership experience in a fast pace environment
- Must be willing and available to complete all steps of the hiring process in a timely manner
- Must have a valid driver's license, pass a pre-employment drug screen (hair test), criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and a Department of Transportation physical.

ZONE SALES LEADER DESIGNATE

Similar to that of the DSL-D position, the Zone Sales Leader Designate (ZSL-D) is a training program for those inviduals with a great level of direct experience in sales management. This position requires training for 1 year in preparation for taking on the responsibility of leading our Direct Sales Delivery retail sales force within an assigned Sales Zone in the state of MD, VA, or PA. After training, the Zone Sales Leader has sales and expense accountability for approximately $75-$120M in sales volume. This invididual is responsible for the day-to-day sales, sales operations, logistics, inventory, scheduling, training, and performance management/people development for 80-120 personnel. The ZSL guides his/her team to achieve the Zone's people metric goals (reduce turnover, hire talent, improve safety, diversity, etc).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8-15 years of solid sales experience, preferably in the Consumer Packaged Goods/Food & Beverage industries
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably with large groups or teams in a cross-functional or complex environment
- Must be open to relocation (meaning geeographically flexible within one third of the Continental U.S. with future assignments after approximately one year)
- Must be willing and available to complete all steps of the hiring process in a timely manner
- Must have a valid driver's license, pass a pre-employment drug screen (hair test), criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and a Department of Transportation physical.
- Travel when needed.
