The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is comprised of men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving their community by protecting life and property. The department would like to expand its law enforcement family by hiring motivated, qualified individuals for the position of Deputy Sheriff Trainee. Each candidate should have good moral character and process good judgment as well as exhibit trustworthiness, courage, teamwork, and compassion.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department can offer you an exciting, rewarding career with the potential to experience a variety of assignments and work in various locations. These assignments include but are not limited to: SWAT, hostage negotiator, bomb squad, K-9 unit, air unit, narcotics, detectives and more. Once you have completed the 22-week California POST Certified Academy, you will promote to Deputy Sheriff. The starting salary for a Deputy Sheriff is $61,400 - $84,600 with full benefits.
