Ready to Play BIG?

Hello from Dallas. I’m here holed up in a hotel room for three days working with 10 women to formulate their strategies to make more money in 2011.

They’ve invested in themselves and have traveled from across the country — VA to CA — to bust the barriers and get results.

Before we arrived here, one of the attendees said, “Tory, I’m ready to finally stop acting small. I really want to play BIG.”

I asked what exactly she meant by that — what’s her vision of big.

Her response: “I want to charge more for my expertise. I want paid speaking engagements. I want to make enough money so I can take a two–month vacation without worry.”

Yup, that’s big. But, more importantly, it’s entirely doable.

The first step is declaring what you want. What does the ideal bottom line in 2011 look like for you? Only then can you map a plan to make it happen.

When I decided two years into Women For Hire to go big, I set a financial goal and then figured out how to get there. I had to host more events, create a magazine, accept online advertising from employers, start a job board, develop customized recruitment programs and more.

I didn’t hope and pray that by working hard I’d somehow make my numbers. Working hard is always a given, but I needed a concrete plan, broken down by weeks and months, to hit my desired target.

Use the rest of this month to plot your plan of ACTION for 2011. What exactly will it take for you to create the career or business of your dreams and earn the money you want for yourself?

Every detail counts when you’re ready to play big.

Tell us what “playing big” means to you as you think ahead to 2011.

I want to find out what my purpose is in life and how I can earn money based on this purpose. My husband and I are both college educated and have “decent” jobs, but yet we struggle to pay bills. I want to know what we can do to earn extra money weekly or monthly.
