After backpacking the Pacific Rim (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii) for a year in 1992, Beth Whitman recognized that other women were looking for guidance and inspiration so that they, too, could plan and carry out their own journeys. Out of this came her workshops and book, Wanderlust and Lipstick: The Essential Guide for Women Traveling Solo.
