She is co-host of Job Talk, a weekly radio show, and co-author of a career transition book, A Taste For Work. She runs the youth and family services program for Lisle Township and serves on the board of directors for the Community Career Center in Naperville, where she facilitates two weekly job clubs. Joy recently participated in a Washington roundtable on creating employment opportunities, headed by U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis. An educator and therapist, Joy is versed in many topics related to work-life issues.

    Directions to the Event

    Public Transportation:

    On METRA

    Direct service to Navy Pier is provided by CTA buses from the Madison Street (former Northwestern) Station.

    By City Bus

    The CTA has six bus lines with over 200 buses that serve the Pier’s front entrance daily. These include the #29 (State Street), the #65 (Grand Avenue), the #56 (Milwaukee Avenue), and the #66 (Chicago Avenue). During weekday rush hours: #120 (Northwestern/Wacker Express) and #121 (Union/Wacker Express) serve Navy Pier and their respective Metra train terminals.

    Driving Directions

    From The North

    Take Lake Shore Drive (US 41) to the Grand Avenue exit.

    From The Northwest

    Take the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) to the Ohio Street exit, south on Orleans to Illinois Street and proceed east.

    From The West

    Take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to Columbus Drive, north to Illinois Street, and east to the Pier.

    From The Southwest

    Take the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) to Lake Shore Drive (U.S. 41), and then north to the Illinois Street exit.

    From The South

    Take the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94), east onto the Stevenson Expressway to Lake Shore Drive North and exit at Illinois Street.

    From The Southeast

    Take Lake Shore Drive (US 41) north to the Illinois Street exit.
