Women Less Likely To Take Old Jobs Back

When women pursue new opportunities, a new study finds that they’re more likely than men to say the move is permanent.  Only 27% of women say they’ve “boomeranged” – or returned to a previous employer – at least once in their career, while 37% say they’d consider it.

Both of these statistics trail men: 32%  have “boomeranged” while 47% would consider it. Other findings:
  • 35% of women think their previous employer should do everything possible to accommodate them should they decide they would like to return.
  • 24% of millennial (ages 18-34) women say that they’d consider returning to a former company if a position was created for them.
  • 29% of women view returning to a previous company as taking a career step back.
